In the season opener, the Cougars 8th-grade boys basketball team defeated New Castle 49-19. The defensive pressure from GC created several turnovers, while holding the visitors scoreless in the 4th period. Ah'Marr Thomas was the player of the game with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 8 deflections for the Cougars.
